About the Math & Computer Science Program

The purpose of the Program in Mathematics and Computer Science at Central State University is to provide the best possible undergraduate education in these two areas. The program trains specialists who will, in the course of their careers, make an outstanding contribution to society. The program also aims to cultivate in the non-specialist an appreciation of the beauty of mathematics and the utility of computer science.

In keeping with the aims and goals of the department, the curriculum offerings are necessarily both broad in scope and detailed in composition. The mathematics courses range from the elementary to the advanced, thereby providing courses for both majors and non majors. Similarly, the computer science curriculum spans the spectrum from a general interest course in computer literacy to specialized topics for computer science majors only.
