This program provides the knowledge, skills, experiences and assessments required to earn an Ohio teaching license valid for teaching the physical sciences (chemistry and physics) in grades seven through twelve. The program is offered in cooperation with established departments in the College of Arts and Sciences. Students must consult with academic advisors in their selected area/department. Preparation in the physical sciences must constitute at least an academic major or its equivalent with sufficient advanced coursework. A minimum of three semester hours in the teaching of reading in the physical sciences is required for the provisional or professional adolescence to young adult license.
