Library Services

Course Reserves

  • Course reserves are materials placed in the library by faculty members for student use. Reserve materials are kept behind the circulation desk and available for in-library use. Students must use their CSU ID to check out items which typically have a 2-hour or 4-hour checkout period.

Find course reserves in the HALLIE library catalog by searching by instructor’s last name, or by the course name or number

  • Interlibrary Loan service is provided for materials that are not readily available at Central State or via OhioLINK.  Before submitting a request, verify that Central State does not have access to the material(s) by using the HALLIE library catalog, OhioLINK library catalog, or an electronic database.

When requesting an article from a serial publication, please match the serial title with the volume number, date of issue, and place of publication. Be sure to include pagination, title, and author of the article.

  • Registered students, faculty, and staff can request materials online using the OhioLINK or SearchOhio library catalog. Materials such as books and audiovisual items that are not available locally can be requested and delivered to Central State University (CSU) within 3-5 business days, or another pickup location from the list of OhioLINK libraries. Items delivered at Central State are held at the Circulation Desk for 5 days for pickup.

Note: SearchOhio items can only be delivered at the Central State University Library.

The Information Literacy Research Room is located on the first floor of the library behind the Reference Collection in room (103). Requests for library instruction in the room or to reserve the room for non-library instruction use may be done by contacting Carolin Sterling by phone (937) 376-6396 or by email csterling@centralstate.edu.

  • The Media Center and Production Lab offers a collection of audiovisual equipment and a work area designed for students, faculty, and staff to prepare bulletin board displays, educational aides, and other visual media.

Individuals may provide their own supplies or purchase materials from the lab. Since photo paper, color printing, and lamination film are specific to CSU equipment, these supplies must be purchased from the lab. All purchases are cash transactions. The scanner, color printer, laminators, and recording equipment must be operated with direction of the lab administrator.
