Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate arid carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Student Affairs philosophy and Residence Life mission.
- Select, train, supervise, and evaluate resident assistants.
- Coordinate training and development opportunities for student development on such topics as developing leadership skills, goal setting, and peer education.
- Coordinate programs and events conducive to living and learning including residential orientations, workshops on stress management, conflict resolution, personal growth and development and developing social skills.
- Coordinate housing logistics including room assignments, dissemination of information and materials, check in and check out procedures, maintenance or service issues, visitation procedures, mail distribution, and processing the opening and closing of residence halls.
- Advise residence hall councils and conduct leadership training for council members.
- Serve as judicial hearing officer, investigate reports of misconduct. and recommend appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Coordinate production of Resident Life Publications (i.e., monthly calendar, handbook, etc).
- Assist with leadership development efforts (workshops, publications, retreats, conferences.)
- Participate in long-range planning, policy development, committee work, report writing.
- Assume administrative responsibilities for Residence Hall in absence of, or at request of, the Director.
- Serve on University committees as assigned.
- Participate in regional/national conferences as requested.
- Be available for evenings, weekends, and special University events as required.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience in student organization leadership, student development, or equivalent.
- Expertise in organizational development, training, and leadership development.
- Experience in budgeting and fiscal management.
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, administration, and community.
- Sensitivity and commitment to working with a diverse population.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s Degree preferred, in related field.
- Housing experience desired.
