Job Description:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Teach a minimum of twelve hours per semester (or twenty-four annually) of day and evening classes.
· Maintain office hours and provide advisement for assigned students.
· Assist in curriculum development, review, and textbook selection.
· Able to teach business law courses offered in the department along with basic and advanced courses in related areas such as management as student needs may require.
· Scholarly activity and service to the university, the community, and the profession are expected, but the emphasis will be on teaching skills and personalized attention that will motivate and encourage students to master essentials of the management discipline and understand their relationship to other business functions.
· Desirable background would include an interdisciplinary perspective.
· Should be a self-started who enjoys teaching and will be involved in student advising, student internships, and student research projects.
· Committee and institutional assignments are required.
· Conduct and publish research.
· Participate in College and professional development activities.
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Dedication to ensuring excellence in curriculum delivery, development, and improvement.
· Experience and interest in teaching students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds are essential.
· Ability to use technology in instruction and student advising.
· Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the role of a comprehensive college in a multi-cultural setting.
· Involvement with recognized professional associations or organizations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· LLB or JD degree with an excellent record required.
· Excellent teaching skills and an ability to perform research commensurate with maintaining currency in the discipline in an undergraduate environment.
· ABDs close to completion date will be considered.
Rank and salary (competitive for a baccalaureate institution) will be determined by degree and level of teaching experience.
