Job Description:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate development of the BS degree in nursing program
• Provide oversight of curriculum, accreditation and program policies and procedures
• Participate in student recruitment, advising, retention and graduation efforts
• Participate in full-time and adjunct faculty hiring, orientation, and assignment of workloads
• Participate in the procurement of funding and allocation of resources
• Facilitate the annual review and revision of program documents
• Plan the efficient use of on and off campus facilities and learning technology
• Collaborate with community, healthcare and education leaders to establish clinical sites for students
• Ensure compliance with Ohio State Board of Nursing and other relevant regulations
• Use competency-based learning principles and assessment measures focused on student outcomes
• Maintain current knowledge of nursing theory and practice
• Participate in regional and national professional activities as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, and a Master’s Degree in Nursing or Education
• Minimum of three years’ clinical practice experience as a nurse, five years’ experience as a nurse educator, and two years’ experience in a position of educational administration, preferably in a a post-secondary institution
• Experience in education and/or healthcare in a multi-cultural environment
• Experience in curriculum development
• Computer skills in Word Processing, Presentation software, and educational technology
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to be a team player, exhibit patience, show enthusiasm, and remain student-centered
• Strong writing and speaking skills
