DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in administering a variety of employee benefits plans and procedures for all University personnel. Assists in maintaining Human Resource records and reports as required. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the Human Resources Department and services performed in the benefits/compensation area. Helps to maintain records, receives and composes correspondence concerning employee benefits. Assists in identifying, addressing, and resolving issues that arise with benefits programs. Acts as a liaison between members and carriers. Answers general questions about benefits for members. Assists in preparing and distributing reports and other correspondence as required by the Director and other administrative offices. Assists with the updating and deleting of personnel data from Human Resource’s database and Banner. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in Human Resources/Business Administration or a related field is preferred. Ability to calculate fractions, decimals, and percentages. Knowledge of basic mathematical principles. Knowledge of Windows and windows-based applications such as Word, Excel required. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with government agencies, insurance companies, employees, and the public. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with other administrative, subordinates and the public.
