About Scholarships
Central
State University's Scholarship Program is designed to recognize
students who have achieved excellence in the academic or creative
arenas. We are able to provide these scholarships through the generosity
of many donors and this support enables Central State University
to enhance the quality of our student body. Each scholarship has
a set of criteria that a student must achieve or complete before
he/she can be considered.
COST OF ATTENDANCE
Every scholarship that a student is awarded must go through the Financial Aid Office and be included in your financial aid package. Most scholarships are based on academic or personal performance but financial need must also be considered when awarded an institutional scholarship. Your cost of attendance with which the Financial Aid Office uses to determine your financial need is also used to determine your need for institutional scholarships.
Cost of attendance includes the following components and amounts for the 2005-2006 school year. These are not the direct charges but are expenses that every student will incur in order to attend college. After completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), a student will receive a student aid report that has calculated their Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Your cost of attendance minus your expected family contribution equals your financial need. All grants, scholarships, workstudy positions, and subsidized loans cannot be greater than the cost of attending CSU. Therefore, it is essential that the Financial Aid Office is notified of any scholarships in order to avoid an overaward situation.
