Tawawa Community Development Corporation
Tawawa Community Development Corporation (TCDC) is a 501(c)(3) organization that was chartered in 2001 using HUD III funding (Instrument #B-95-SBOH-002). TCDC is a jointly developed and sponsored Community Development Corporation (CDC) created through the unique partnerships of two of Ohio’s oldest Historically Black Colleges – Central State University and Wilberforce University. The TCDC Board of Directors consists of 15 members; five members each representing the two founding universities, one representative from the three communities to serviced by the CDC per its charter; Wilberforce, Ohio; East Xenia, Ohio; and the Innerwest Priority Board area of Dayton, Ohio; one at-large representative; and the Executive Director. This partnership was developed to serve as a vehicle to allow both Universities to implement their community service objectives.
