Pre-Admitted EPP Candidates
Newly enrolled students who enroll in the University to seek teaching degrees are considered “Pre-Admitted” to their Educator Preparation Programs (EPP). To become full EPP candidates, enrollees must meet prescribed criteria and competencies. These criteria are ideally met during their first three semesters at the University. Completing these requirements promptly will help candidates transition into programs, upper-level education courses, observation, and classroom practicum.

TEAP-C encourages pre-admitted freshmen and sophomore education majors to utilize the admissions checklist to prepare and meet the Educator Preparation Program (EPP) admissions requirements.
Department of Professional Education and Music/EPP Admission Application Process
To begin the application process, candidates must:
- Provide a completed admissions application to TEAP-C
- Have earned a minimum of 32 hours for EPP programs
- Have earned a minimum 2.75 GPA (Starting the summer 2024 term)
- Have met Basic Academic Skills Competency
Verification for Background Check Form
If you are a CSU teacher candidate employed by a public school district, please download the School District Verification Form and have it completed by your HR department or school administrator. However, if you are not employed in a public school, you must obtain your BCII/FBI background check from your local sheriff's department or Xenia Community Schools.
