A degree in Agricultural Education will prepare you for an exciting career teaching others about Agriculture. Content courses cover various topics, including Animal Science, Agribusiness, Education, Mechanics, Plant Science, Soil Science, and other related sciences. You will learn skills to faciliate learning for a wide variety of audiences and ages, In addition you can take advantage of multiple opportunities to gain experience through Internships.  In Agricultural Education, you will grow into a leader in your field of study.    

  • The Licensure Pathway in Agricultural Education is a four-year B.S. degree focused on training students to teach in a formal school setting in Secondary schools, grades 4-12. This pathway leads to an Ohio Career Technical Teaching License in Agriscience and includes a Minor in Sustainable Agriculture. 

    The degree includes 39 Semester Hours of General Education, 41-43 Semester Hours of Agriculture Content ( Including: Biology, Sustainable Agriculture, Horticulture, Grain Crops, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Mechanical Principles, and your choice of electives), 18 Semester Hours of Education Preparation, 9 Semester hours of Agricultural Education, and a 12 Semester Hour Student Teaching Internship.  For a full list of courses download the above pdf sheet. 

    To complete the Agriscience Licensure Program, students must be admitted to the Educator Preparation Program, have a clear FBI/ BCI background check, have a 2.75 GPA, and pass the Agriscience and Professional Knowledge Licensure Exam.  

  • The Extension Pathway in Agricultural Education is a four-year B.S. degree focused on training students to teach adult learners and youth about agriculture and leadership. The degree will prepare students to work in a non-formal education setting in local communities. The four-year degree includes a Minor in Sustainable Agriculture.  

    The degree includes 40 Semester Hours of General Education, 55-57 Semester Hours of Agriculture Content ( Including Biology, Sustainable Agriculture, Horticulture, Grain Crops, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Mechanical Principles, and your choice of electives), 12 Semester hours of Agricultural Education, and 12 Semester Hours of Extension-Related Internships.   • The 30 Semester Agricultural Education Certificate prepares you to facilitate learning to various audiences and age groups. Designed for Extension Educators, Public School Teachers, Business Professionals, or Community Leaders interested in learning to teach others about agriculture. 

    The Online Certificate Program includes 30 Semester Hours of coursework, 6 Semester Hours of Agriculture Content (Including Sustainable Agriculture and Agribusiness), 12 Semester hours of Agricultural Education, and 12 semester hours of Extension-related Internships.
