Central State University proudly announces a week of special events to commemorate the inauguration of Morakinyo A.O. Kuti, Ph.D., as its 10th President. Taking place March 3–7, 2025, the celebration highlights CSU’s rich history, global vision, and unwavering commitment to student success.
The week underscores President Kuti’s transformative vision and the University’s dedication to empowering students through innovative opportunities. Join us for inspiring programs, all while advancing our mission to provide transformational scholarship opportunities that impact our students today and lay the foundation for their future success.
All events will be held on the Central State University campus in Wilberforce, Ohio, and the community is warmly invited to participate.
Inauguration Week schedule
March 3 — Ecumenical Service (free)
10 a.m. | Paul Robeson Cultural and Performing Arts Center Auditorium
Kick off the week with a moment of unity and reflection at the Ecumenical Service, celebrating fellowship and gratitude.
March 4 — 138th Charter Day (free)
10 a.m. | Robeson Auditorium
Celebrate Central State’s founding and its 138-year history of fostering academic excellence within a nurturing living-learning environment.
March 5 — Central State University Community Service Day
All day | Campus and local communities
Our commitment to community engagement shines on CSU Community Service Day, where students will lead projects that uplift the communities surrounding Central State. Witness firsthand how our students are shaping the future through service and leadership.
March 6 — Scholarship Luncheon ($) and Investiture Ceremony (free with RSVPs required)

The luncheon will raise vital funds to expand scholarships for students, followed by the formal Investiture Ceremony where Dr. Kuti will be installed as President.
March 7 — A Night of International Celebration ($)
5:30 p.m. | Ward Center
The week concludes with a vibrant celebration of President Kuti’s native Nigerian culture and the global community, featuring international music, cuisine, and performances.
