Central State University welcomes new vice provosts

Central State University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ryan F. Morgan as Vice Provost for Teaching, Learning, and Program Development and Dr. LaTonya Branham as Vice Provost for Enrollment and Academic Strategy. 

Dr. Morgan brings a wealth of experience in academic leadership, curriculum development, and student engagement. Previously serving as dean of Graduate Studies and the School of Business, Mathematics, and Science at Chadron State College, he has played a pivotal role in advancing academic programs, fostering institutional growth, and championing student success initiatives. His extensive background in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, interdisciplinary research, and faculty development will enhance Central State’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation. 

Dr. Branham, an accomplished higher education leader, author, and consultant, assumes the role of Vice Provost for Enrollment and Academic Strategy. With over 20 years of experience in student success, enrollment management, and academic support, she will oversee key areas such as the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Registrar, as well as First- and Second-Year Student Success programs. Dr. Branham's passion for education, accessibility, and student achievement aligns with Central State’s mission to cultivate an inclusive and supportive learning environment. 

Amy Hobbs Harris, Ph.D., Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, expressed enthusiasm for the new appointments, stating, “Dr. Morgan and Dr. Branham bring exceptional expertise and leadership to our academic community."

Additionally, Central State University is proud to announce that Dr. Lillian Drakeford has transitioned from Interim Dean to Dean of the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education. 

Dr. Drakeford’s dedication and leadership have been instrumental in strengthening academic programs and student support initiatives within the college.
