A ceremony announcing the Ohio Chapter of the Farmer Veteran Coalition was held on Sept. 25 at the Frog Hollow Farm in Stryker, Ohio.
Central State University Extension has been working with veteran farmers in Ohio to become part of the Farmer Veteran Coalition, a national organization that cultivates a new generation of farmers and food leaders to develop viable employment and meaningful careers through the collaboration of the farming and military communities.
The ceremony provided official notification of the group's status as the Ohio chapter of the coalition. Official recognition of the group was given at the ceremony by U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Toledo) and representatives for U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio).
