Central State University Extension educator Kunta Jackson (pictured above) of the Southwest Region conducted a workshop on Oct. 12 for the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services (MCBDDS) at the CSU-Trotwood Extension Center. About a dozen people from the board's Independent Contractor Empowerment and Advocacy Group attended the workshop.

Folck, Kumaran to present at OSU's 2023 Climate Smart Conference on Nov. 30

Two Central State University 1890 Land-Grant Program heads have been tapped to speak at Ohio State University's Climate Smart — Farming with Weather Extremes Conference, slated for Thursday, Nov. 30, in Plain City.

Cindy Folck, Ph.D., interim associate extension administrator for CSU Extension, and Sakthi S. Kumaran, Ph.D., interim associate director of the Agricultural Research and Development Program (ARDP), will present "Central State University Extension and Applied Research in Climate Focus Areas" at 11:25 a.m.

The conference is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Der Dutchman, 445 S. Jefferson Ave. Plain City. It is free with registration no later than Nov. 17. Learn more about the conference.

Dr. Karen Mathews, executive director of Health and Psychological Services at Central State University, was the featured presenter on Live CSUE Wellness Connection Forum Webinar on the topic, "Opiate Misuse."

The presentation was facilitated by James Keys, interim regional Extension associate regional educator (Southern Region); and Joseph Frank, Ph.D., health and wellness coordinator.
