The Research Connection Podcast recently welcomed Central State University's Dr. Morakinyo Kuti to discuss the variety of food and agricultural research CSU has embarked on since 2014 with more than $100 million received from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and other public sources.
Cyril Ibe, communications and media specialist for the 1890 Land-Grant Program at Central State, and Kuti, vice president for Research and Economic Development and director of the 1890 Land-Grant Programs, discussed the NEXTGEN award on the podcast.
The University in Wilberforce, Ohio, is part of a cohort of universities that are partnering for the $10 million Learning to Leading: Cultivating the Next Generation of Diverse Food and Agriculture Professionals (NEXTGEN) award. Central State's share of the grant is $2.5 million.
The award from the USDA's National Institute of Food and Agriculture will help CSU recruit, train, educate, and retain the next generation of agricultural professionals.
