Showcasing success: Marauders shine at 2024 Undergraduate Internship and Research Review

Sixteen students participated in the 2024 Undergraduate Internship and Research Review presentations on their summer work. 

"The purpose of the Undergraduate Internship and Research Review is to enable students to demonstrate the experience and knowledge they gained through research and job training internships sponsored by public and private entities," said Gorgui Ndao, director of Student Success and Experiential Learning.

Dr. Jose Toledo (left), vice president of Research and Economic Development and director of 1890 Land-Grant Programs, expressed his admiration for the undergraduate students' understanding of the research process and the quality of their findings, as showcased in their presentations.

The students included the following: 

  • Laverne Ambrister, a junior majoring in Exercise Science
  • Joel Barhorst, a senior majoring in Sustainable Agriculture
  • Keiana Briscoe, a senior majoring in Biology
  • Danao Davis, a junior majoring in Environmental Engineering
  • Ranicia Ferguson, a senior double majoring in Psychology and Criminal Justice
  • Pleas Halsell, a junior majoring in Water Resources Management
  • Royalty Hightower, a sophomore majoring in Sustainable Agriculture
  • Ishe Mawasha, a junior majoring in Environmental Engineering 
  • Zephon McAndrew, a sophomore majoring in Environmental Engineering
  • Abigail Penn, a sophomore double majoring in Psychology and Biology
  • Meyah Pillow, a junior majoring in Sustainable Agriculture 
  • Shawn Saturday, a sophomore majoring in Sustainable Agriculture sophomore
  • Kellsie Schrack, a senior majoring in Water Resources Management
  • Heaven Strachan, a sophomore majoring in Sustainable Agriculture
