To be eligible for a tutoring position, a student must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00. Additionally, the student must have earned a letter grade of A or B in the course they wish to tutor and have completed at least one full academic year at the institution. Undecided majors are not eligible for this position. Faculty recommendations, which must be typed on official university letterhead, should be submitted directly to the coordinator at least two months before the next semester to ensure inclusion in the budget. Students must apply through Handshake and meet all prescreening requirements to be considered for an interview. Selection is contingent upon successfully passing the interview and screening process. Furthermore, students must be available to attend in-person training sessions once a week for six weeks to become certified tutors. Failure to complete this training will result in ineligibility to tutor until the course is successfully passed.
