2024-25 Professional Education Alumni Teacher Mentoring Program

The Professional Education Alumni Teacher Mentoring Program, provided by TEAP-C, is designed to guide pre-service teachers with the motivation and mentorship they need to succeed as professional education majors, regardless of their academic year. We partner with professional teacher-licensed alumni from the Department of Professional Education and Music to ensure students receive the best support. If you are enrolled in a Professional Education licensure program and would like to know more about the Alumni Teacher Mentoring Program, kindly register by clicking the registration link below. Professional Education Informational Webinar

The Department of Professional Education provides information webinars through TEAP-C every month. Informational webinars are designed to provide pertinent information and requirements for students enrolled in online programs in the Department of Professional Education. If you are enrolled in a Professional Education online licensure program and wish to attend an informational webinar, kindly register for your desired webinar by selecting the scheduled date. Please note that approved student CSU emails are required to register, and webinar registrations will close the day before the webinar facilitation at 5 p.m. ET. After registration has closed, students will receive the webinar link via their CSU student email.

Student Development Workshops and Presentations

TEAP-C supports student academic achievement with information to assist in teaching proficiency, skill, disposition, and self-management while increasing students' self-efficacy and determination in the Department of Professional Education through professional development workshops and presentations. If you are enrolled in a Professional Education licensure program and wish to attend a student professional development workshop or presentation, kindly register by selecting the workshop or presentation. Please note that approved student CSU emails are required to register, and workshop and presentation registrations will close the day before the workshop facilitation at 5 p.m. ET. After registration has closed, students will receive the presentation link via their CSU student email.

Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE) Workshops

The Department of Professional Education content specialist conducts OAE workshops through TEAP-C every semester, including the summer. These workshops are designed to assist CSU licensure candidates in preparing for the required OAE exams in their licensure program. If you are enrolled in a Professional Education licensure program and wish to attend an OAE workshop, kindly register for your desired workshop by selecting the OAE exam number, which will have the date the workshop is scheduled. Please note that approved student CSU emails are required to register, and workshop registrations will close the day before the workshop facilitation at 5 p.m. ET. After registration has closed, students will receive the workshop link via their CSU student email.

Reminder: The Ohio Early Childhood Education (ECE)  teaching license will no longer be offered after spring 2024. Hence, Early Childhood Education OAE workshops will no longer be offered. Current ECE majors ineligible to student teach in spring 2024 will need to change their major.

If you are a Primary PK-5 major, you must take OAEs 057 Professional Knowledge, 055 Content, and 190 Foundations of Reading. If you have already taken and passed ECE 001 Professional Knowledge and 090 Foundations of Reading, per the Ohio Department of Education, your passing scores for these two exams will be substituted for Primary Professional Knowledge 057 and 190 Foundations of Reading. If you have not previously passed ECE 001 or Foundations of Reading 090 exam, all currently enrolled Primary PK-5 students must take OAE exams 057, 055, and 190.

Methods and Student Teaching Webinars

Students in the Education Preparation Program (EPP) in the Department of Professional Education should attend webinars on methods and student teaching before enrolling in the courses. These webinars provide important information regarding eligibility requirements and course expectations. If you plan to enroll in methods or student teaching for the spring semester of 2024, please register for the appropriate webinar by selecting the scheduled date below. Note that approved student CSU emails are required to register, and registrations close the day before the webinar at 5 p.m. ET. Registered students will receive the webinar link via their CSU student email.

Rockford Public Schools (RPS) Student trip and Apartment Opportunity for Spring 2024 Student Teaching

Attention education majors! TEAP-C is thrilled to announce the Rockford Public School trip to Rockford, Illinois in Spring 2024. We had an amazing time in Rockford last academic year, and we are confident that this year's trip will be even better! If you wish to attend, please fill out the registration form provided below.

Also, education majors who plan to student teach in the spring 2024 semester! Rockford Public Schools (RPS) in Rockford, Illinois, is offering a fantastic opportunity to provide fully furnished apartments for several student teaching candidates. You must have met all requirements and be approved to student teach during the spring 2024 semester to be eligible. There are no additional obligations attached to this opportunity.
