Marauder Achievement Program (M.A.P.)

Welcome to the Marauder Achievement Program (M.A.P.), a comprehensive initiative designed to support and retain students facing academic challenges. Our primary goal is to help students who are on academic probation return to ‘Good Standing’ and set a solid foundation for academic success. M.A.P. is committed to improving retention rates, enhancing student outcomes, and contributing to the overall success of the institution.

USS 1200 course: Academic success through structured support

USS 1200 is an essential course offered through the Marauder Achievement Program and is taken by students who are placed on academic probation after their first semester, or following any semester where academic standards are not met as needed.

This course is carefully designed to help students develop skills that are essential for academic success, including:

  • Goal Setting
  • Time Management
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Study Skills
  • Reflection and more

The ultimate aim of the USS 1200 course is to assist students in developing a comprehensive academic plan that sets them on the path to success and improved academic standing.

Workshops for enhanced success

Along with USS 1200, students are required to participate in workshops provided by the Office of Strategic Programs and Retention. These workshops are an integral part of the program, focusing on practical strategies to improve academic performance, as well as the development of important soft skills that will benefit students throughout their academic journey and beyond.

These workshops are offered virtually and in-person.

In an effort to provide workshops that students feel would be beneficial, please complete the questionnaire below.

M.A.P. support teams: Personalized guidance

We believe in the power of personalized support. Our M.A.P. advisors and Retention Specialists work closely with students who are on academic probation through one-on-one advising and mentoring. These personalized meetings, which may occur weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly depending on individual needs, are designed to help students:

  • Improve their study techniques
  • Implement time management strategies
  • Develop test-taking strategies
  • Create academic goals and action plans

Our M.A.P. team is dedicated to guiding students through the challenges they may face and helping them achieve their academic goals.
