Central State joins Ohio senator to discuss impact of HBCUs in Ohio
Tiffiney Gray, vice president of Insitutitional Advancement at Central State, recently spoke with News5Cleveland's Mike Kallmeyer about the advantages of attending a Historically Black College or University. Central State is only's only public HBCU and 1890 Land-Grant University.
"One of the advantages is to be a part of the family, where a student can find that sense of belonging," Gray said. "Our mission at Central State University is to provide access to education for groups who may or may not have historically had that access, and so for 136 years, we've been a part of the Wilberforce, Ohio, community. ... One of the things that we're committed to is providing a family atmosphere coupled with academic excellence."
