As part of Gov. Mike DeWine’s and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted’s vision to connect education and industry, the Super RAPIDS grant will help Central State continue building a diverse and well-equipped workforce that meets the demands of Ohio’s evolving economy.
“Central State University is committed to transforming lives through accessible, high-quality education and workforce training,” said Dr. Morakinyo A.O. Located at CSU-Dayton, the Workforce Training and Business Development Center serves as a bridge between education and employment, offering certificate-based training designed to prepare students for immediate entry into the workforce or advancement in their current careers. Courses in cybersecurity, broadband deployment, and 3D printing technologies will be expanded with the new resources, enabling the University to provide industry-recognized credentials and hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment.
“This grant allows us to align our academic and workforce programs with the current and future needs of Ohio’s employers,” said Dr. Jose Ulises Toledo, Vice President for Research & Economic Development and Director of 1890 Land-Grant Programs at CSU. “We are excited to equip our students and adult learners with the skills, tools, and confidence they need to thrive in the rapidly evolving job market.”
As an 1890 Land-Grant University, Central State is uniquely positioned to promote economic growth and educational equity. The Super RAPIDS funding will help further that mission by ensuring underrepresented communities have access to training pathways that lead to sustainable, high-wage careers.
With the $175,030.21 Super RAPIDS investment, Central State continues to fulfill its mission of academic excellence, leadership, and service — fostering a workforce that is not only job-ready but future-ready.
