CSU Extension educator Lisa Lawrence interviewed on award-winning television show
Gary Jackson of In Ohio Country Today recently sat down with Lisa Lawrence, a Northwest Ohio Extension educator at Central State University, on the latest episode of the award-winning television show.
As an experienced professional with a background in media and nonprofits, Lawrence has made it her mission to reach out to underrepresented urban and rural farmers in northwest Ohio. She aims to provide education and training on agricultural topics, effectively bridging the gap and empowering these communities.
For example, in urban areas, Lawrence promotes the idea of planting gardens as an alternative to traditional farming, recognizing that only some have access to large plots of land.
Working closely with Michelle Wallace, the Extension educator for agriculture and natural resources, Lawrence is passionate about sharing the wealth of knowledge she has gained from her family members, who were avid gardeners. Through her work, Lawrence hopes to spread the benefits and value of gardening in these communities, advocating for healthier living and sustainable practices.
