Renowned neurosurgeon to deliver Central State University Commencement address

Central State University will celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of the Class of 2025 during its Commencement Ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at William Patrick Memorial Stadium. Highlighting the ceremony will be a keynote address by Dr. Myron Rolle — renowned neurosurgeon, author, and humanitarian — who will inspire the approximately 663 graduates as they prepare to embark on their next chapter.
“Commencement is a time of great celebration and reflection, marking the culmination of years of hard work, perseverance, and academic achievement,” said Dr. Morakinyo A.O. Kuti, President of Central State University. “We are incredibly proud of our graduates as they take this significant step forward, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resilience to make a meaningful impact in their communities and careers.
"As they join our distinguished network of more than 16,000 Central State University alumni, we know they will continue to uphold the legacy of excellence and service that defines the Marauder spirit.” — Dr. Morakinyo A.O. Kuti

Delivering this year’s commencement address, Dr. Rolle brings a remarkable story of dedication to excellence in education, athletics, and medicine. A pediatric neurosurgery fellow at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and the chairman and founder of the Caribbean Neurosurgery Foundation, Dr. Rolle is a Rhodes Scholar and former NFL player for the Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers.
His foundation has improved neurosurgical care for more than 3.5 million people in the Caribbean through policy, education, and health system reform. A Florida State University and University of Oxford graduate, Dr. Rolle has also published “The 2% Way,” a bestselling book that outlines his philosophy of incremental progress and purposeful living.
Dr. Rolle's contributions extend beyond the operating room. In his hometown of Orlando, he leads mental health advocacy efforts, builds early childhood literacy initiatives, supports low-income families, and promotes civic engagement through voter registration drives and affordable housing programs. His inspiring life journey and commitment to service make him a fitting voice to celebrate and motivate Central State’s newest graduates.
